The Northern Neck Audubon Society is calling all bird lovers to join them at Pope’s Creek.
The society will hold a bird walk at 9 a.m. Saturday in Westmoreland County at George Washington Birthplace National Monument Park on Pope’s Creek, between Montross and Oak Grove, according to a news release from the society.
Visitors will be able to view wildlife at the birthplace of George Washington, as well as views of the Potomac River, the woods, Pope’s Creeks, open fields and beaches.
Possible bird sightings include: bald eagles, Canada geese (in great numbers), white fronted geese, great blue herons, terns, gulls, loons, wild turkeys, tundra swans, buffleheads and hooded mergansers.
