DORA Sip & Strolls in Town of Colonial Beach

Up to 16 annual Sip & Strolls in Town of Colonial Beach, Virginia, (CBVA) will be held throughout the year. Sip & Strolls permit the consumption of alcohol in a Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA), as regulated by Virginia ABC (Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority.)

During Sip & Strolls, those of legal drinking age (21+ years) may purchase “to-go” alcoholic beverages from select ABC-licensed retailers, walk with those drinks throughout the designated downtown district, and visit select businesses with drinks in hand. Drinks in specially-marked Sip & Stroll cups will be the only alcoholic beverages allowed in the DORA.

Beverages can be purchased at the following downtown, ABC-licensed businesses:

  • Colonial Beach Brewing
  • Monroe Bay Vineyards (at its Washington Ave. location)
  • Oomboon Restaurant
  • Raven’s Point
  • Tides Inn Market

Event-goers can take their Sip & Stroll beverages onto the premises of the following businesses. (Participation may vary by event.)

  • Beach Paws Boutique
  • CoBe Workspaces
  • Coldwell Banker Elite
  • Colonial Beach Chamber of Commerce
  • Colonial Beach Printing
  • Dockside Realty
  • Hawthorn Mercantile
  • Jarrett Thor / Colonial Beach Artist Alliance

DORA initiatives are designed to bring more people to the scenic, downtown waterfront district, encourage exploration of the town and discovery of new businesses, and provide additional support and revenue-generating opportunities for local retailers.
