Where is Colonial Beach, Virginia (CBVA)?

Where is Colonial Beach, Virginia (CBVA)? Closer than you think–one of the closest beaches to Washington, DC and Richmond!

CBVA is located along the Potomac River on one side and Monroe Bay on the other, in the northwestern part of Westmoreland County on Virginia’s Northern Neck peninsula. Fewer than 2 hours from Washington DC (one of the closest beaches to DC) or Richmond, Virginia. CBVA is only 35 nautical miles from the Chesapeake Bay and the last deepwater port on the Potomac River heading south. Nearly a dozen marinas in town to service boaters. Sea planes frequently land in our waters, too!

USA Today’s 10Best named Colonial Beach, the 2nd largest public sand beach in Virginia, “Best Virginia Beach” and included Colonial Beach in its published article “What Beaches are in the Vicinity of Fredericksburg, Virginia?” From Fredericksburg, CBVA is only 33 miles.
