After 18 months of cleanup, repairs, rebuilding and construction, the Boathouse Marina invites the public to celebrate its Grand Re-Opening and tour the new facilities at an Open House on Saturday, October 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Marina’s location at 829 Robin Grove Lane, Colonial Beach, Virginia (N 38° 14.400?, W 076° 57.780?)

Joining Bowman in the ribbon cutting will be special guest Mary Virginia Stanford, widow of Clarence, from whom Bowman purchased the former Stanford Marine Railway in 2013. The Stanfords had owned the marina since 1945. Town of Colonial Beach officials, including Mayor Edward “Eddie” Blunt and Chamber of Commerce President Carey Geddes, will also attend the Grand Re-opening. The Sea Scouts, a youth group for kids 14-20 years old supported by the marina, will also be in attendance. Tours of the facilities, refreshments and displays are included in the Open House.
