JUST ADDED! Cinema on the Green hosted by Colonial Beach Outfitters. Saturday at dusk, roll up in your golf cart, plop yourself in a chair or roll out a blanket for the “drive-in” showing of To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything starring Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes and John Leguizamo. Held at the Colonial Beach Community Center. Free, with donations to the Colonial Beach Foundation appreciated!



Semper Fi Fund is a one of America’s highest rated charities. The non-profit 501 organization is dedicated to providing urgently needed programs, financial resources and support for post 9/11 combat wounded, critically ill and catastrophically injured veterans in all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. Benefiting Semper Fi Fund will be the 2018 Explore the Shore 5k & 10k, Saturday, August 11, starting at 8 a.m. Race day registration is available up to 45 minutes prior to the start of the race. Walkers, runners and pets on leashes welcome.

Thursday evening at 6 pm is Trivia Night at The Tides Inn Market, who also hosts live music Friday and Saturday evenings, from 5-9 pm.

Time again for 2nd Friday Art Walk! August 10, from 6-9 pm. Various locations throughout Town feature works by local and regional artists.

Indi hits the stage at Dockside Restaurant & Tiki Bar on Friday, 6 pm. On Saturday, it’s Pete Baker at 4 pm and classic R&B and Soul band En’ Novation at 8 pm. Sunday, Something Shiny performs at 11 am and Jerry Wimmer Trio at 3 pm.

High Tides on the Potomac and The Black Pearl Tiki Bar have live music from Rock Bottom on Friday, Austin Boggs Band on Saturday, and Prestage Brothers on Sunday.

The kid-dog-family-friendly 8th Annual Dog Day of August to benefit the Colonial Beach Humane Society will be held 8:30 am to 11 am, Saturday, at Colonial Beach Yacht Center. Events include amateur level competition including best trick, fasted mini-agility course run, fastest find the buried bone; pet parade (multiple awards including costume contest); best water retrieval, and more.

Nearby Stratford Hall hosts a Summer Forest Walk with a local naturalist and herbalist, Saturday, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.
