Ready to hear what’s happening this weekend? Here we go!
The weekend kicks off Thursday at Dockside Restaurant and Tiki Bar with Happy Hour starting at 5 pm, Tiki Taco specials at 6 pm and a Blind CornHole Tourney at 7 pm. Weekend shenanigans continue Friday with David Andrew Smith performing at 6 pm and Team Trivia at 7:30 pm. Saturday features the music of Kleptoradio at 9 pm. Sunday it’s Levi Stephens at 3:30 pm and Steal the Sky at 8 pm.
Tides Inn Market hosts Trivia at the Market, Thursday from 6-8 pm. Chef Caitlin Townsend will hold Spring Gathering: Cooking Class, Herbal Crafts and 3-Course Meal featuring local produce, wine, Japanese-style kokedama plants, creating herbal shrub cocktails and baking edible flower cookies. Sunday 3-7 pm. Co-hosted by yoga instructor Paula Van Alstine.
Colonial Beach Brewing will host their first Karaoke Open Mic Thursday from 7-9 pm. Rise bright and early Saturday morning their first ever Brewery Yard Sale, 7 am to noon. Join them as they Run/Walk around the point at 11:30 am. Sunday is the brewery’s Giant Jenga Tournament starting at 6 pm.
Colonial Beach Outfitters’ Colonial Beach Farmers Market is Friday, 4-7 pm at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.
High Tides on the Potomac & The Black Pearl Tiki Bar’s live music line-up includes Doc Marten and the Flannels (7 pm Saturday) and Violet Sun Armada (6:30 pm Sunday) for their debut album release concert.
Lots of opportunities for bargains this weekend! New Life ministries is having a yard sale and car wash Saturday from 7 am to 2 pm. Colonial Beach Baptist Church hosts a Beach Vendor POP-UP featuring local vendors and a raffle giveaway to help support their food pantry, the same day, from 10 am-1 pm.
Two Grand Openings this weekend! Monroe Market, serving Monroe Bay Vineyard wines and cider, crepes and fresh artisan breads and cheese plates, will be open Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Our food truck community on the boardwalk promenade is growing! Join the Colonial Beach Chamber of Commerce in celebrating the Grand Opening and Official Ribbon Cutting of Dogs and Hogs Gone Wild, Saturday at noon.
Veterans, military, police officers, rescue squad and fire department personnel can attend, for free, Colonial Beach Community Center’s Saturday night memorial tribute Illusion of the Stars, with impersonations of Michael Jackson, Toby Keith, Mary J. Blige, Toni Braxton, Cher, Elvis, Loretta Lynn and more. Doors open at 6 pm, show starts at 7 pm.
The public is invited to enjoy a BBQ Dinner 1-4 pm and entertainment by Groovequest Band 6-10 pm at American Legion Colonial Beach Post 148.
Monroe Bay Campground will have live music from Old School at 7 pm on Saturday.
On Sunday, from 2-5 pm, Ingleside Plantation Winery kicks off its 3rd Annual Summer Music Series with featured musician singer/songwriter Mackenzie Roark and the official release of their new 2017 dry rosé Rosato di Sangiovese.
And please, let’s not forget the reason for the weekend. Join American Legion Colonial Beach Post 148 on Monday at noon for Memorial Day at Cannon, a ceremony and luncheon to remember those who died while serving in our country’s armed forces.
